Clik here to view. When I asked by Stylist magazine to take part in the Sally Hanson Miracle Gel promotion I was thrilled of course. They are both great brands to be involved with and it was a real privilege to be asked to share the creation of my floral work. I thought it would be perfect if Sassy joined me to make our film debut.

I wasn’t overly keen to be seen on screen but Sassy and the flowers did most of the hard work anyway. I’ve become a bit paranoid about my looks to be quite honest. I’m at that age now when things are just starting to sag, drop and wrinkle up. Sadly makeup doesn’t cover things up so well anymore and even control underwear loses to the determination of my wobbly bits to break free and spill out of the top of my skinny jeans.
During the preliminary makeup session – the best bit of the day – fake eyelashes adorned my tired eyes, beautifully painted and manicured nails disguised my dry fingernails and the blow dry, almost made my thin hair look hair half descent. I felt like a film star, just for a moment.

During this makeup extravaganza, the makeup artist was informing me about the wonders of botox. After I slammed the vanity of the human race for sticking a needle with deadly poison into their faces for the sake of beauty, I have to admit I’ve actually started to consider the botox beauty treatment. But that really is another story. I’m digressing….

The day really was fascinating and I think the crew did a fantastic job. Alongside me are interviews and video features with two lovely and gorgeous ladies: textile designer Ali from Age of Reason Studios (whose amazing scarf I used to create this Frida Kahlo illustration) and jewellery designer Laura Gravestock. We’re all busy women who don’t always have time to fit in a manicure but want our hands to reflect the detail that we put into our work. Hint: Husbands and partners out there, that means we girls need pampering sometimes!
Here’s the finished video. I must congratulate the team who did an amzing job at working and filming in my tiny studio at the back of my house.

Full video and interview are over on the Stylist website.
And finally – here’s me (looking very tired!) with Sassy looking pretty in her rose petal dress Image may be NSFW.
